Immediate Needs Post-Ceasefire
Everything still comes at a price!
Hello again! As we hope that this ceasefire deal holds and that Gaza is spared further bombardment, we have several urgent needs to highlight.
Please know that the trucks that have entered Gaza since the ceasefire do not meet even a fraction of Gaza’s needs right now. Shelters, medical supplies, adequate fuel, and adequate food have not entered.
Though prices are dropping somewhat, most folks in Gaza haven’t had any income for 2 years straight. Material solidarity is urgently necessary to access even the most minimum of their needs.
Everyone in Gaza needs funds for food. And all our friends have seen a major drop in support since this latest ceasefire. Please continue to show up in solidarity.
The following are urgent needs sorted alphabetically in 4 categories: baby, medical, shelter, and warmth. Malnutrition puts people at much higher risk for illness and death in poor weather, and many folks don’t have adequate shelters, let alone blankets and warm clothes.
If you are unable to contribute materially right now, please share the following links and needs with everyone you know. Many hands make light work! Meeting the survival needs of folks in Gaza is our responsibility—and our honor.
Baby Needs
Ahmed and his family haven’t received support in 7 weeks. They urgently need milk for 3 young children, as well as food, medicine, and supplies to stay warm this winter.
Alaa needs ongoing support to access baby formula and diapers for 4-month-old Maryam, as well as food for their 6-year-old son Sari and themselves. They also need supplies for winter warmth, and their family needs a medical evacuation (details on his campaign).
Faten is raising 2 young daughters while widowed during the genocide. Maria is disabled by malnutrition and needs diapers, healthy food, physical therapy, and at least one more surgery.
Wesam’s twins were tragically stillborn during a displacement. Her infant daughter Ayla has no diapers or milk and only one outfit. When her makeshift diapers leak, Ayla must sit naked in a piece of nylon. Material solidarity urgently needed!
Medical Needs
Nara has been waiting for two years to evacuate with her family. She has pancreatic cancer, MS, and seizures, as well as a host of new symptoms since the genocide began. In the meantime, she is searching for her necessary medications at exorbitant prices. Her family also needs ongoing support for food, fuel, water, and shelter.
Rafeef was supposed to join her surviving family in Egypt on the day the Rafah border crossing closed in May 2024. She’s been alone in Gaza for nearly 18 months and still needs additional medical care outside the strip. Ongoing support necessary for Rafeef to access everything she needs and reunite with her family.
Sayeid is our steadfast friend who survived the entire genocide in Gaza City. Their current needs are funds for medicine, food, rent, cat food, and whatever their next steps are.
Wesal is ill. She, Adel, and their 3 children have been undersupported and malnourished for 2 years. Wesal needs medicine and adequate food to recover. (Note: please include the note “Wesal” when you send support!)
Shelter Needs
Ala’a and her family are unprepared for the winter. Their tent is 2 years old and worn thin. They must repair or replace it and purchase blankets and warm clothes!
Amro and his loved ones have received very little support. They urgently need ongoing care to access crucial essentials like a tent, food, and water.
Hadeel and her children have been unsheltered since they were displaced from the north nearly a month ago. This is incredibly dangerous, particularly as the winter is approaching and little Sara experienced malnutrition not long ago. They urgently need support.
Khalil and his family also have been unable to complete their shelter since being displaced from Gaza City. As winter approaches, this becomes a bigger and bigger issue. They require assistance to stay warm and fed, and Khalil still needs a second surgery for his leg wound!
Rayan and his family have already nearly drowned in the rain. They urgently need ongoing support to access a tent and food.
Warmth Needs
Aaed is his family’s provider, and they urgently need warm clothes and blankets for the winter. Aaed’s father has also been unmedicated for far too long for his medical condition and their family requires ongoing funds to access these meds and food.
Ahmed is another young man providing for his family. His immediate goal is $70 to purchase a coat for his little sister. That’s just the beginning, though; his family truly needs so much more support to stay warm and fed!
Amani is a mother to 2 littles who need support to stay warm this winter, in addition to formula, food, and diapers. Aisha and baby Amr both need warm clothes and additional blankets.
Seraj and his family of 13 have been living on very little since the last ceasefire in January. They’re not eating enough and they haven’t been able to purchase enough warm clothes and blankets. Please support them to stay warm and fed this winter!
Palestinian Poetry Pause
Please go forth and be a blessing to a family in Gaza. And if you need more encouragement, let me remind you of Mahmoud Darwish’s beautiful poem “Think of Others” (translated by Mohammed Shaheen).
As you prepare your breakfast, think of others
(do not forget the pigeon’s food).
As you conduct your wars, think of others
(do not forget those who seek peace).
As you pay your water bill, think of others
(those who are nursed by clouds).
As you return home, to your home, think of others
(do not forget the people of the camps).
As you sleep and count the stars, think of others
(those who have nowhere to sleep).
As you liberate yourself in metaphor, think of others
(those who have lost the right to speak).
As you think of others far away, think of yourself
(say: “If only I were a candle in the dark”).

How do folks send support? Do we send it directly to the folks you've listed, or do we send it to you to pass on? Not sure how this works, and can't always send large amounts. So, I want to send what I can to where it'll be the most effective, where it can go the farthest and do the most good!
